About pickleball
Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. Played on a small court with a solid paddle and a perforated plastic ball, it's easy to learn, social, and suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It's the fastest growing sport in Australia right now.
Absolutely. Pickleball provides an excellent cardiovascular workout, improves agility and hand-eye coordination, and is low-impact enough to play regularly without putting excessive strain on joints. Studies show 30 minutes of pickleball burns 200–500 calories depending on intensity — comparable to other court sports.
The court is much smaller (about a quarter of a tennis court), the paddle is solid rather than strung, and the ball is slower — giving more reaction time. The non-volley zone (kitchen) adds a strategic layer that makes pickleball tactically unique. Most tennis players adapt within one or two sessions.
Only the serving team can score. Games are typically played to 11 points, win by 2. In doubles, each team gets two serves (one per player) before the serve changes to the opposing team. The score is called as three numbers: serving team score, receiving team score, and server number (1 or 2).

Courtly uses Stripe Connect for marketplace payments. Your share of each booking is deposited directly into your nominated bank account, typically within 2 business days of the booking date. You'll have full visibility of all payouts through your Courtly dashboard.
